TUV rank as Moderate Right

Meaning that the TUV are a moderate right wing party

Overview

The Traditional Unionist Voices (TUV - Founded in 2007) is a staunchly unionist party regularly associated with right wing tendencies. This was reinforced when looking at the party’s manifesto, which received a score of 60% on the right/left scale meaning the party can be seen as moderately right. However, the parties voting record achieved a 30% on the left/right scale meaning the party was not as committed to the right wing ideology as the manifesto would suggest. This was partially due to Jim Allister’s tactical voting, which often saw him voting for or against policy on a tactical basis rather than an ideological one at times. Taking this into account, we feel that the manifesto may be a more accurate representation of the party’s true feelings.
